When Monica and her husband, LA Laker Shannon Brown, had their second wedding ceremony she hired celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss to coordinate the festivities. Everything was beautiful, but look at her amazing dress! I love the train.
Vintage weddings are extremely popular right now. You can find a host of websites that not only sell vintage gowns and accessories, but also give advice on creating the ultimate vintage wedding.
To look for inspiration, I find it extremely helpful to look up the weddings of actresses from the 1950s and 1960s. Audrey Hepburn, Diahann Carroll, Catherine Deneuve, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren and Bridget Bardot all had amazing style. Just looking at their old photos can give you inspiration.
Etsy is one of my favorite places for Vintage accessories and gowns. There are so many beautiful pieces. Here are a few that I really like:
I absolutely love this gown. I like the lace, and the length. I think it’s a very classy and elegant bridal look.
This is another lace wedding dress that I like. I love the back. The tiers are really pretty and add a nice touch to this already lovely gown.
This is my favorite dress right now 🙂 It’s just gorgeous! I love the sheer sleeves, and chiffon overlay. It has a sweetheart neckline and a silk satin waistline. Check out Dainty Rascal’s page on Etsy to see more photos of this gown. It really is beautiful, (link below).
Fabulous Vintage Accessories
Winter Wonderland weddings are fabulous! I loved this whole idea when I was looking for the perfect wedding theme for my own ceremony & reception.
Preston Bailey is awesome at whatever he puts together. (Check out his site: Preston Bailey).
In my opinion, the decor for a Frosty Winter Wonderland Wedding should feature sparkles, snowflakes and lights. The colors are usually white and a light shade of blue. White flowers look amazing in this setting since the rest of the decorations are so glitzy and shiny, the flowers don’t have to be full of color. Below is a collage of ideas I’ve put together. This is what I would include in a Winter Wonderland Wedding if I was using this theme. I would also include lots of winter trees, and maybe a faux fur shawl.
