1.) Ciara and Russell Wilson: Ciara and Russell’s ceremony was held on July 6th at the Peckforton Castle in Cheshire England. Yes, that’s right, a castle! Ciara looked amazing 😍. Her gown was handcrafted in Milan by Peter Dundas. Her groom, Russel Wilson, looked handsome in his Giorgio Armani Suit. The couple shared their wedding photos on Instagram.
2.) Anna Camp and Skylar Astin: Pitch Perfect stars Anna Camp and Skylar Astin’s wedding ceremony was held at the Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez, CA. Anna wore a gown by Reem Acra and Skylar wore an Ermenegildo Zegna tux. Everthing about this romanic vineyard wedding was perfect! Visit US Magazine for more photos and the full story: US Magazine
3.) Adrienne Bailon and Israel Houghton: Bailon and Houghton had an intimate wedding ceremony with 100 of their closest relatives and friends at the Hotel Plaza Athénée in Paris. Everything about this wedding was awesome, from the location to the late night pizza in custom boxes! The couple shared lots of videos and photos. See more at People.com and Dailymail.co.uk. Bailon wore a mermaid gown with intricate detailing and a 21-ft. train!
4.) Colton Dixon and Annie Coggeshall: Dixon and his bride got engaged in Disney World and their wedding had kind of a Disney theme. The ceremony was held at the Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville, TN. Afterward, the bride and groom road off in horse and carriage to the reception hall. It was super-cute! Annie wore Vera Wang and Colton, a black tux. People.com has the full story.
5. Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish: Kevin and Eniko were married in Santa Barbara, California. The blushing bride wore, two custom Vera Wang gowns; and she slayed in both! For the wedding, Eniko wore a lace mermaid gown. The gown had a sheer bodice with hand-embroidered French Chantilly lace appliqués, and a tulle skirt. For the reception she changed into her second Vera gown, a long sleeved, sheer, fit-and-flare gown with lace appliqués. The couple shared their wedding photos on Instagram.
6.) Audrina Patridge and Corey Bohan: The happy couple had their wedding ceremony on November 5th in Hawaii. One of my favorite parts about this wedding is that the groom was able to where a man bun and suspenders 😀. I’m describing this as a chic, boho wedding with an awesome location and romantic feel. I love how the bride and groom got to be themselves and that baby Kirra got in on the action too. US Magazine got the exclusive and plenty of gorgeous photos. Visit US Magazine for more.
7.) Corbin Bleu and Sasha Clements: Corbin married his sweetheart Sasha at Hummingbird Nest in Santa Susana, California, on July 23 in a romantic ceremony. The adorable couple looked amazing with bride in her Pnina Tornai gown and groom wearing Tony Bowls. Corbin and Sasha look like best friends. They did a salsa for their first dance, and then danced the night away with guests. Find out more at People.com
8.) Becca Tobin and Zach Martin: In a December, winter wedding, Becca Tobin married Zach Martin at the luxurious Amangani hotel in Wyoming. Jane Lynch officiated the ceremony. It was quite a glee-ful event! Brides.com has the exclusive and some awesome photos of the glee cast at the wedding. The bride looked super sweet in her gown, which she helped design at her favorite boutique.
My favorite eight, really big wedding cakes:
Topping my list is Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera’s 12 foot, 265 pound wedding cake with Swarovski crystals and 3D-mapping for projected computer graphic effects. While the cake is not as detailed as the castle one below, it still tops my list. I had a little trouble deciding between the two, however my final opinion is that this is the BEST really large wedding cake I’ve seen so far. Basically it comes down to a show of really cool computer graphics projected onto the cake that beautifully ends with the words, “Forever begins today.” How do you top that? The video below does not show the whole projectile, but please watch it. It’s so nice!
My second favorite cake is Indonesian actress Chelsea Olivia Wijaya’s castle cake. Chelsea had a fairytale wedding theme, and as far as fairytale weddings are concerned this cake is a dream! The cake is completely edible and beautifully sculpted into a castle complete with towers, flags, balconies and two stair-cases that meet at the bottom to almost form a heart shape. The flowers at the bottom of the cake add a delicate touch and go nicely with the overall theme. The amount of detail in this cake is very impressive.
Angelababy’s wedding cake is my 3rd favorite. Her wedding was amazing! It requires a whole blog post of it’s own. The 8 foot tall, 9 layer cake made by 1001 Bakery was delicately detailed with fondant bows, ribbons and over 2000 flowers including roses. The best part was a carousel placed in the middle of the cake that actually rotated!
Fourth on my list is the Cinderella carriage wedding cake of NFL player Ryan Pickett and his wife, Jennifer. The cake was created by Houston Texas’ most notable cake design studio, Who Made the Cake! This uniquely designed cake features draping, bows and flowers on the top five layers. The carriage wheels have crosses for spokes and an angel sits upon the top of the cake. The bride and groom had requested the cake include a carriage, angel wings and crosses. I think the cake designer did an amazing job of incorporating all that into one exquisite cake!
Next on my list is Yvonne Arifin and Albert Sudewo’s giant eight-tiered flower-draped wedding cake. This cake is one of my favorites because it looks like a traditional wedding cake, except it’s really huge! It’s not real extravagant but it’s beautiful. The pink and white flowers were coordinated with the ballroom decor where the cake was center-stage and surrounded by cherry blossom trees.
Gozy Ekeh and Tolu Ijogun are said to have had the most expensive wedding in Nigerian history. It was quite lavish! Their elegant all white, 10 tier wedding cake makes #6 on my list. The cake was created by Buttercup Enterprises. Every other layer featured all white roses while the alternating layers were embellished with quilting, pearls and lace detail.
#7 on my list is the 10 ft tall wedding cake of Russian Heiress, Marina Shokirova. The cake was designed by former boxing champion, now celebrity cake maker, Renat Agzamov. Precise detailing is what makes this cake so impressive. It has six regal tiers and is topped with a gazebo. The cake is adorned with delicate flowers, embellished with three dimensional columns and balcony, and personalized with the couple’s initials.
Ali Awada and Lana El Sahely’s seven-tier, tulip, jasmine, and camellia covered wedding cake was created by Nazira Catering and places at #8 on my list. The best thing about this cake is that it fits in perfectly with the theme of the wedding. If you look at the photos you’ll notice the cake, the wall, and even the bride’s veil are embellished with ivory flowers. I love this soft, romantic look.
Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera are TV superstars from the Philippines. In 2014 they were married at the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral in Quezon City in a ceremony fit for royalty.
(This was way better than Kim Kardashian marrying Kris Humphries. Plus their marriage already lasted longer than her marriage to Kris so…yeah. Her wedding doesn’t even count anymore).
Okay, so I ran across this beautiful event while searching for ‘huge wedding cakes,’ which I plan to blog about real soon. That search brought me to this photo:
When I saw this cake I was like, “Wow! Who is this couple? They must be rich. Look how beautiful!”
As it turns out, this was the wedding of a power couple in another country. To give you an idea of just how extravagant this was, let’s begin with mass. The mass was celebrated by eight bishops and seven priests. The guests included several celebrities. The wedding party consisted of 18 bridesmaids, 18 groomsmen AND the president of their country was the groom’s best man! (President Benigno Aquino III was the president at the time).
Marian’s romantic wedding gown was designed by Dubai-based international designer, Michael Cinco. The ballgown featured embroidered French lace embellished with Swarovski crystals, a cinched waistline, and a cathedral train.
On top her head Marian wore a crown inspired by Queen Elizabeth’s Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara.
I have provided a short Youtube video of the “Royal Wedding” below. Followed by photos of the wedding taken by www.niceprintphoto.com. It looks like the perfect wedding. Amazing! You have to watch the video.
Romantic princess gown with embroidery and crystals.
This past June I flew to Lacey, Washington for a celebration of life, love, and marriage as my younger sister wed her girlfriend in a beautiful, non-traditional ceremony that would join these two hearts and souls for eternity. The evening was beautifully captured by photographer, Joshua Taylor.
Although this was a non-traditional wedding and included things like the first look, a mother-daughter dance and two brides, it also nicely incorporated some age-old traditions that we’re all familiar with.
The Harris wedding was held at The Grand Holiday Ballroom in Olympia, WA.
The First Look
Brides were led into the room with their eyes covered and sat back to back while guests counted down to the moment when they would turn around for the First Look. Both brides looked absolutely stunning!
This was not only Ashley’s first time seeing Mercedes in her wedding gown, it was the first time she had ever seen Mercedes in a dress before.
The brides’ four younger daughters served as broom carriers and flower girls.
